About THE AUTHOR

Dirk van Leenen

Born in the Hague, Holland and having escaped the holocaust, this author became a Horticulturist. At a later date he studied English at Leiden University in the Netherlands and became a teacher. He always told stories about World War II to his children and grandchildren, and they kept urging him to write a book about it. Resistance on a Bicycle is the first book in series of three, an account of his memories of the holocaust in Holland.
